Non-Violence and Organizing for Social Change

On April 2nd Penny attended an all-day workshop on “Non-Violence and Organizing for Social Change”.

This was a powerful workshop that provided a wealth of information about how to create a movement. Some topics discussed and contained in the handouts were;
Models of Power, The Three Laws of Political and Social Control, 5 Books for Organizing, Reference List,
Possible Actions – 198 Methods of Nonviolent Action, Six Points of Confrontation, Six Principles of Nonviolence, Reaction is the Action, Movements – Campaigns – Actions, Power of Noncooperation, Success of Violent Verses Nonviolent Campaigns and a Movement Action Plan (MAP).
One handout has a simple chart of the Eight Stages of the Process of Social Movement Success. Very important information for those serious about creating social change! Also has strategy charts and citizen roles to help clarify your goals.
